Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Lithgow Library Cards
Lithgow cards are issued free of charge to Augusta residents or property
taxpayers. Proof of residency is required. Non-residents are welcome to
purchase library services for a fee. The cost is $48.00 per year, $24.00 for six months, or $12.00 for three months.
If you misplace your card, there is a replacement fee of $1.00
Your library card is needed to check out library materials.
Loan Periods
Books, periodicals, CDs, books on tape and CD, videos and DVDs circulate for 2 weeks. Patrons must present library cards in order to check out items.
Please bring library items back on time. You may renew your items 2 times as long as there are no holds on a specific item. If a library item is kept beyond
the due date, an overdue fee will be charged as follows:
Books, periodicals, audio cassettes.........5 cents per day (Adult
card) ; 2 cents per day (Children's card)
Videos and DVDs .....................................$.50 per
day
A replacement fee will be charged for lost or damaged items.
Special Services
The Lithgow Library is handicapped accessible with a ramp at the State Street entrance and an elevator inside the building. If you have special needs, please feel free to communicate them with a staff person.

Renewals
A library item may be renewed one time if no one else is waiting for the
item. Library items may be renewed over the telephone (626-2415) or you may renew your materials online here.
Holds
We would be happy to reserve any item that is not immediately availible.
Please ask a staff person for assistance. You may also request materials via the online catalog by clicking the "request" button that accompanies each item record viewed.
Can't Find What You Are Looking For?
Lithgow Library is a member of Minerva, a consortium of more than 85 Maine libraries, including public, academic, school, and special libraries. Creating a statewide "library without walls,” Minerva provides access to more than six million library items. If a copy of an item is unavailable here at Lithgow, we would be happy to request it through Minerva, or show you how to request it yourself. This is a free service provided to you by the library.
