Summer Reading 2019: A Universe of Stories

Celebrate “A Universe of Stories” this summer at Lithgow Public Library. Sign up for our Summer Reading program to participate in our reading challenge, earn awesome prizes, and learn all about the special events happening all summer long at the library. This program is free and open to all. Complete the Summer Reading challenge and collect your prizes by August 28th!

Mondays @ 10:00 a.m. | Wiggle Worms
Starts Sept. 9th! Music, movement, stories, and more for children ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers.

Tuesdays @ 10:00 a.m. | Toddler Time
Our lap sit program helps your child develop language and literacy skills by singing songs, sharing books, and learning nursery rhymes, while interacting with other children and caregivers.

Tuesdays @ 3:00 p.m. | LEGOS at the Library
Free-form LEGO build for children 5 and older.

Tuesdays @ 4:30 p.m. | Farmers’ Market at Mill Park Story Time
Join us at the Augusta Farmers’ Market for stories, songs, fun, and more! 

Tuesdays @ 6 p.m. | First LEGO League
Starts Sept. 3rd! Guided by adult coaches, FIRST LEGO League teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. Using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, they must design, build, and program a robot that completes related tasks to compete on a table-top playing field. For children ages 8 to 14.

Wednesdays @ 10:00 a.m. | Family Story Time
A weekly program that readies your child for Kindergarten by sharing stories, educational activities and art projects. For children ages 3-5 and their caregivers.

Wednesdays @ 3 p.m. | LEGO Build
Resumes Sept. 4th! Structured LEGO time with a different theme each week. For children 5 and up.

Thursdays @ 10:00 a.m. | Thoughtful Thursday Play
Resumes Aug. 15th! Come join us as we share stories, songs, and fun for children ages 3-5 with their parents or caregivers. Thoughtful Thursdays are all about exploring topics like identifying & managing feelings, learning techniques to focus & calm down, expressing gratitude, and more. Calming activities include yoga, mindful breathing, and arts & crafts.

Fridays @ 10:00 a.m. | Incredible Infants
A weekly program for babies from birth to 1 year and their parents or caregivers. Designed to support babies’ language development and learning by experiencing repetitive songs, lap bounces, finger plays and stories.


1st Mondays of the month @ 6:00 p.m. | Rockin’ Readers
Resumes Sept. 9th! A book group for curious readers age 8 to 12. Parents are welcome to join. Call the library to see what we are reading next and how to get a copy.

A different themed activity each month for tweens ages 8 to 12.
